Greetings From Palm Springs

Good Evening:

Well, I'm out here in Palm Springs at my parent's new pad (they used to live in New Jersey, but now they live on a golf course – the 10th fairway, as a matter of fact. You just know they're happy about that). I'm out on the patio in a chair with my laptop watching the big white egret that pretty much owns the pond on the 10th fairway (he's usually pretty docile, unless a golf-ball whizzes too close to his head – then you're sure to see someone in yellow golf pants with the non-matching green shirt drop their seven iron and run for cover). The bird is picking bugs out of the water and eating them – yet with the sun setting behind the San Bernardino Mountains and the sprinklers twirling lazily on the well-manicured grass, it's still a pretty damn idyllic scene.

I'm here recharging my batteries after a few days at the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I was there to open two shows for the Neville Brothers at House Of Blues in the French Quarter. Before, after, and in between those gigs, I caught some beads, saw some parades, ate a lot of great food and drank a lot of whiskey chased by go-cups full of Abita Purple Haze. It was as much fun as a man can have and still live to tell the tale.

I left New Orleans on the morning of Fat Tuesday (just as the Zulu Parade was coming down St. Charles) to fly back to LA and play my 4th Annual Mardi Gras In LA Party at House Of Blues In Hollywood. Many thanks to all of you that came to the show - you made it a great night for us!

Next I'm off to the East Coast (land of my birth) for the Damn, It's Cold Here! II Tour. Apparently, I miss home so much, I can't even wait for the spring thaw to happen before I come back (are you buying any of this?). It should be a fun trip – a lot can happen in three weeks! And for all you Midwest folks who will miss the one Midwest date on this tour (Champaign, IL), don't worry, I'll be playing The Ark in Ann Arbor on April 13 plus some other as-yet-unconfirmed Midwestern locations. Details soon(er or later).

One last thing: those of you that thought you heard one of my songs on the ABC television series Cupid really did. In fact, that episode has aired twice already! Many thanks to Chartmaker Records for scoring that one for me. See you all soon...

Love, Bob
